An exercise to practice animating along a path and using the echo effect. (I added the colour change effect and the extra cirles coming out of the world with the echo effect to the animation too.)

This is the version, I did in class but i had some issues as I have an older version of After Effects. AS you can see this verion is faulted, there is a glitch with the boats. This is why I re-did it.

Banana Jokes

A stop motion animation, using objects in my house and plasticine. The purpose was to try-out animating an object talking with stop motion.

Animated Texture

Animating a path, in After Effects, also playing around with the stroke and colour.

Orange Exploding

Class exercise, where we usde real footage and an effect, to make it look likt the orange exploded into nothing.

Shape to Shape animation

Class exercise where a square turns into a cirlcle and back to square again. Position also animated.

Beach Huts

I actually did this for another subject, but I was inspired by the city scene we animated in this class, so i just wanted to add it as I used the same concept.

2b. Exploratory Work and Sketches

Swimmers (with audio)

This was the first experiment I did, to do with the theme: Synchronisation. I made the character in Illustrator and then animated and duplicated her in After Effects. The water texture is done with an effect called Turbulent noise - strings setting. This was just a simple animation to practice certain tools, I knew I was not going to do it about synchronised swimming, it was just beacuse that is all that comes up when you first research the word.

Going Underground (with audio)

The purpose of this short animation, is to make it seem like the camera is going underground, and it is meant to act as a transition of sorts, to take you from one scene to another, whilst still showing animation. It is done in After Effects, by using cut up images of rock texture and a landscape, all cut up and put together in Photoshop before hand.

Woman Travelling Along Road (with audio)

This was a simple experiment just to test out some visuals. I placed a video of a woman over footage I had taken myself while I was on the bus travelling along the road, and changed the blending mode, so that it looks like we are seeing her reflection on a window.

Cranes

This was an experiment, to once again test out some visuals, I made the landscape with several images, on Photoshop, like a collage. Then I did the craenes in Illustrator, and I animated it in After Effect, using masks to hide the cranes. I dupplicated the animated crane and played around with different timing, scale, saturation ad lightness to change the look of each one.

Bicycle and Flowers (with audio)

This was a simple test, to practice the synchronisation of a vehicle (bicycle) with nature, because of my third proposal idea. The artwork is done in Illustrator, and animated in After Effects. It focuses on how the motion of one thing sets of others.

Flower Heart (with audio)

An experiment, with artwork done in Illustrator and the background imagery from pexels.com. It is to show synchronicity between human and nature, while also playing around with a mixture of vector and raster imagery.

Windows (with audio)

An experiment done, to try out what kind of aesthetic I wanted to go for, and testing out points of view for my final.

Bus Travelling (with audio)

Another experiment testing out aesthetics, using raster and vector artwork, creating compositions with photos, like a collage, experiment in colour and black and white. I like this kind of aesthetic the most out of all my experiments for my final.

The Journey Recorded

This is the video I put together of some of the footage taken on my journey to and from school. I did not include all of it as there was too much but this video is basically to record and show the storyline if you will, of my journey. So, now I can use this to determine the order of my sequence and also to see what the main elements are of my journey., so that I can create the composites, as of course it will be a much shorter version of my real journey.
